The Labyrinth is a web of secret societies and occult cultures maintained by the Guardians of the veil to keep sleepers who are interested in magic and the occult away from real magic. It uses half truths and cultural magic drawn from many cultures to accomplish and maintain the deception.

Sometimes, the Labyrinth even triggers an awakening, which the Guardians attempt to use to their advantage, but the number of such Awakenings is small, and most people upon finding out what the Labyrinth do not hold the Guardians in high regard.
