Game 1 - The Artifact Appears

OOC Date: May 24, 2008

IC Date: May 24-27, 2008

Mages in the area were called to a gathering at the closed-down Temple Club in Old Town. Codex was tasked to gather people and retrieve an artifact that was set to appear in a house in west Lansing. Codex gathered the characters present, including Gifter, Tsuyoshi, Gall, and Ajax. After some reconnaissance and information-gathering, the party set out Monday night to distract the household, sneak into the basement, and bag the item. Unfortunately, plans changed quickly as they discovered another person with active Force magic cast upon them entering the house. They cautiously followed, armed to the teeth (and water bottle). Following the intruder up the stairs, they confronted him as he chased the lady of the house. Gall battered him with his crowbar, and a single shot was fired as Ajax finished the fight, ending with a frightened woman in the hands of Tsuyoshi and a limp body on the ground. Gifter and others cased the house, finding the father and son both mortally wounded, while Codex quietly went back to the basement, searching for the artifact. In the end, the Sentinel, Exodus, was called by Gifter, and he summoned Walker, the Thyrsus on the council, to heal the injured people in the house. The night ended with Exodus taking away the intruder in his SUV and the group going their separate ways.

Game 3 - Farewell the Major

OOC Date: June 21, 2008

IC Date: May 28-June 9, 2008

Encountered the Major and his minion at a mansion in south Lansing. It was his minion whom the party had encountered and captured in the house, while purloining the ring. After a long deliberation and consulting with councilors, the group decided to disenchant the ring, with Tealeaf and Chelebi doing the actual ritual. They gave the disenchanted ring back to Major after he pledged to leave town, giving the oath Fate-bound. He left town. Quite begrudgingly. Thus began the party's history of pissing off lots of people.

Experience Awarded

Gifter, Gall, Codex: 13

Artemis: 18

Game 4 - Enter the Mansion

OOC Date: June 29, 2008

IC Date: June 11-14

Gifter and Gall meet at Fleetwood and head to the mansion to investigate, as well as for Gifter to vet Gall for entrance into the cabal (unbeknownst to Gall). They find zombies in the wine cellar, as well as a Hallow. They fight them, but Gall had a boring crowbar and Gifter was weaponless, so their efforts were slow. Ajax was called in, and assisted with his rifle, which put an end to the existence of the zombies. However, the gunshots alerted a police officer whom they then finessed into believing there were no gunshots. In the aftermath of zombies, people explored the house more fully, and found an important piece of evidence, a receipt linking the zombies and the Major to Medula. The PCs speak of forming a Cabal, who they want to include and what they want it to be.

Experience Awarded

Gifter, Gall, Codex, Ajax: 8

Game 5 - Minor Acquisitions

OOC Date: July 6, 2008

IC Date: June 16-20

On the 16th, Gifter negotiates the price of the mansion down to $400,000, with the help of some luck. The next day, Codex takes Artemis to a bookstore in Detroit to have her steal a book for him, which she later finds out to be a test to join the cabal. On the 20th, Ajax, Codex, and Gifter go to the house to plan things and where people will sleep.

Experience Awarded

Artemis, Codex, Ajax, Gifter: 7

Game 6 - Live and Learn

OOC Date: July 12, 2008

IC Date: July 1-4, 2008

By now, the mansion has been purchased. Albertus tells Codex of a group of sleepers who will try to summon a demon on the 4th of July. This wouldn't be an issue, except that they seem to have acquired an actual book of magic that was recently taken from the Mysterium library. After some online reconnaissance and scrying, Codex uses Apportation to replace the book with a fake that was altered by Gifter using Matter magic. They notice that on the inside front cover of the magic book it is handwritten, "Hope you have a Majorly good time", evidently a message saying that the Major was behind the sleepers getting it.

Meanwhile, Gall is tasked by Tealeaf to escort the Herald from Grand Rapids from the Consilium border to a hotel room. The Herald is incredibly proper and well-dressed, leading Gall to question Tealeaf's motives in assigning him to this task.

Artemis, Codex, Gall, and Gifter follow the sleepers to the woods near Lake Lansing, using Artemis' falcon familiar to track them. They used magic to make Gall look demonic, and had him Portal in to the summoning circle made by the sleepers. They all got really scared, the sleeper Stacy Smith fainted, and Codex used Mind to put the others to sleep. They liquored up all the sleepers and put alcohol around them and changed their memories just a little bit, to make it seem like they got drunk, fell asleep and dreamt the whole thing. When Gifter used Mage Sight to examine the nature of all the sleepers, he discovered that Stacy was in the middle of an Awakening.
